ClimbFIT is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) designed to help climbers to prevent plateaus, improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance, develop lean muscle, and burn fat, all in less than 45 minutes. Everything that a climber needs to stay healthy and strong.


Each session will begin with a warm up and will then move into a series of resistance training exercises to build general strength and flexibility. Expect to focus on all-around core strength, hip flexibility and shoulder stability.


If you want to improve your climbing performance, overall fitness, get workout ideas, learn more about how to exercise effectively, or just want to find fun in your workouts then this program is for you. ClimbFIT training allows each person to exercise at an individualized level of intensity, so all levels and abilities are welcome!

Climbers strive for a calm, focused mental state called “flow” when red-point climbing. If you’re not used to climbing when tired, (and by tired we mean really and truly exhausted), you may not stay “fully immersed in the activity at hand” (the principle definition of flow).


RedFlag is a high intensity strength circuit to train you for climbing your best even in those moments when you feel most tired. During the 45-minute RedFlag session, you may use any combination of body weight, Bosu Balls, exercise balls, resistance bands, kettlebells, boxes or steps in rotation with climbing the treadwall.


Adding these sessions to your climbing regiment can help you stay calm on your next project! Heading into the crux, you’ll feel the pump, fatigue and shortness of breath, but you won’t panic. You may just think “I’ve been here before in Red Flag” and be back to full immersion, calm and focus.


Inspired by the “Red flag days” practiced the Dan Gable and the University of Iowa wrestling team. We may not quite match that legendary intensity and toughness, but this class will push you to the edge of fitness regardless of your climbing experience level.
